I am negotiating a 2005 JD 3320/hydro/4wd purchase for around $15500. (100hrs) It has a 3rd scv and I wanted to convert my old 3pt posthole digger by changing the bracket to mount on the FEL and rigging up a hydraulic orbit motor to spin the auger. Has anyone tried this and I wonder if the hydraulic output is strong enough to warrant this modification. I like the post hole digger on the loader for good down pressure, and easier to line up for digging holes. A lot of this depends on what size hydraulic motor I use, and if the gearing is workable for the rpm and power of the motor.

I would think you could make this work, although I would contact a hydraulic motor supplier and tell them what you are trying to do. They could recommend the size motor needed and the gallons per minute and pressure needed. If you don't get the right match, you will get poor performance or overheating of the hydraulic oil. ....
